A Hidden Gem

On a cold winter day back on January 12, 2007 a game dropped. This game was Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Many people didn’t hear much about this game. There were commercials and magazine ads but none truly focused on thee highlight of this game… multiplayer.
Well that time has come and gone. Many games came out in the mean time that have washed away all memory of Lost Planet. Call of Duty 4 showed us some great customizable options for the characters while Halo 3 brought back the veterans of the twitch. Do you remember what LP brought to the multiplayer field? Grappling hook, frisbee grenades, and useless mechs. Oh, you wonder why I don’t talk about the single player campaign? Well it was rather boring and slow.
Anyway Capcom has been wondering how could they reel in more money from lost LP fans and they have found it. They will be releasing a Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions platinum edition called Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions - Colonies Edition. Just rolls off your tongue. It is to be released on May 27, 2008 at $30. Just in time for the summer slump.
The Colonies Edition will have everything that the first one had plus another 1000 in gamer points to be achieved. Aside from the same stuff from the original LP Capcom has added three new modes for single player, six new modes for multiplayer, four new multiplayer maps, new playable characters for online play (including two female and two robot characters), new weapons for humans and mechs, new environments, and added cross platform play between 360 and PC users which Shadowrun tried (and succeeded in my opinion).
Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions - Colonies Edition is a great buy at $30. For all the action to be had in multiplayer this game is not to be taken lightly.

Didn’t like the multiplayer a lot in the first release. It was kinda slow and sluggish. Not that I didn’t like it at all, but I enjoyed the single player campaign more.

It sounds like you like the game, but unfortunately I didn’t care for it very much. Won’t be picking this one up. :-\
